The United Kingdom officially confirmed that it has transferred all 99 self-propelled AS-90 howitzers still in service to Ukraine.
The information was revealed in a document obtained under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), which also confirmed the transfer of other artillery systems that had not been publicly acknowledged by London.
According to the report, the numbers match 2021 data from the UN, which recorded exactly 99 AS-90 units in the British arsenal. The document also indicates that 37 additional howitzers, which were intended for disposal, were possibly dismantled to provide spare parts for the models in operation.
In addition to the AS-90, the United Kingdom confirmed the transfer of 28 M109A4BE self-propelled howitzers and 54 105mm L119 towed howitzers, all currently in use by the Ukrainian military. These shipments are part of previous military aid packages, and their official confirmation reinforces British support for Kyiv, which has also recently received new Storm Shadow missiles.
